1969 MGC GT Information
Autodynamics is pleased to offer For Sale this unique and well-documented British Racing Green 1969 MGC GT. This is a relatively rare iconic British Sport Car and was the actual car used for a used-car road test in the British Autocar Magazine, August 1971 issue.
The restoration has been completed to a concours level of restoration by the current owner who has been professionally restoring British and American cars for the past 25 years. The body was taken back to bare metal. The ‘British rusted areas’ were replaced with new floorboards, rocker panels, bonnet and elimination of patches over frame rail rust. The six-cylinder 3.0-liter engine was rebuilt along with the professionally restored Overdrive 4- speed transmission and differential. An ‘original style’ cloth-covered wiring harness was installed, including the detail of proper labeling.
The CGT has an incredibly strong engine and handles like new. It is a pleasure to drive intown and on the open road.
The interior is original black leather sourced from Moss Motors. This CGT also has a Websco sunroof which was added by the original purchaser in 1970 and recently refurbished. Original fog lights, shown in the Autocar Magazine article, have been rebuilt.
The uniqueness of this piece of history continues as this CGT was also included in articles in Classic and Thoroughbred Cars, and the book Mighty MGs.
Recently the MG was entered in the 2024 Houston AutoRama Car Show, where it was awarded First in Class. The car comes with a complete photo history writeup of the restoration. Lots of documentation from its life in England with a Heritage Certificate.
